Restorative Care

Because of wear and tear, decay or trauma you may need to have some of your teeth repaired or replaced.  We offer many options in order to create maximum dental health in your mouth.  These options include:

  • Tooth-colored fillings
Amalgam fillings, sometimes called silver or mercury fillings, often leak, darken and become unsightly over time.  These silver fillings are unsightly especially when a filling is on a tooth that can be seen when you are smiling or speaking.  Old fillings can expand and crack the tooth.  We will replace these silver fillings with modern tooth colored material which provides strength as well as beauty!

  • Crowns
How many times have you seen someone smile and notice a dark line at their gum line?  We provide all porcelain bonded crowns so dark lines aren’t created and gaps and stains will disappear.  Metal free dentistry can restore your smile back to natural form and beauty.

  • Bridges
When a tooth is lost or missing, a bridge is often recommended.  A bridge is a non-removable replacement attached to the teeth on either side of the missing tooth.  Without the use of a bridge, spaces in the mouth from the missing teeth can cause other teeth to shift, leading to biting and jaw problems.

  • Root Canals
A root canal is needed when the tiny canals in your tooth become infected.  The canals are cleaned with small files and filled with a sterile pliable material.  The tooth then receives either a filling or a crown.

Testimonials

Tooth-colored fillings

“I had several large old silver fillings in my back teeth breaking and needing constant repairs.  Dr. Zuidema replaced these old fillings with a tooth colored filling material and now when I talk, eat and laugh I no longer can see dark metal throughout my whole mouth.  I was surprised by what a difference it made.”

Crowns

“I was embarrassed by the black lines above my old crowns that showed when I smiled.  Dr. Zuidema replaced my old metal crowns with new porcelain crowns and the black lines disappeared!  I love my new improved smile."

Bridges

“I had a tooth extracted years ago and lived with the space it created, but never liked the way it looked.  Dr. Zuidema put a porcelain bridge in my mouth that filled in the space and it looked so natural.  I wish I had done it sooner!”

Root Canals

"I started feeling pain in one of my molars and swelling in my jaw.  Dr. Zuidema suggested a root canal to save the tooth.  I had heard horrible things about root canals but once the anesthetic took effect it was painless!  The infection was removed and I haven't had any pain since then."
